Biography:
For the last 23 years Carolyn has been a commercial litigation lawyer with the last 8 years spent as Managing Partner of Cowell Clarke Commercial Lawyers.
Carolyn has specialised in the areas of insolvency and trade practices. These areas allow a rare insight into 'How not to run a business'; issues of governance, risk management and legal compliance come to the fore. Carolyn has worked with many clients, large and small, corporate, and not for profit assisting them in the areas of staff education, implementation of compliance programs and education for directors on governance issues.
In the 8 years that Carolyn has been Managing Partner of Cowell Clarke she has worked extensively within the firm on 'people' issues, communications skills, and other non-legal skills for lawyers. She has implemented risk management education programs for all staff and has developed a strong culture of accountability without sacrificing having some fun. Working on the financial aspects of the practice has allowed the firm to build steadily and to maintain a financially sound base.
Carolyn is now using these skills to assist other businesses to grow and flourish.
