Career & Achievements: Charles has been a TEC Chair since April 2004, taking up the role following a successful 40 year career in the financial services industry, forming a new Sydney based TEC Group.
He brings to his group of CEO's, many years experience as a CEO and company director, extensive insight into business management and a broad knowledge of industries, gained from wide experience in Australia and internationally. The securities markets, capital raising, investment management, investment banking, equities trading and investment products generally, are at the core of a wide portfolio of experience shared with the group.
Working mainly with medium and larger organisations in his TEC group, Charles is particularly focused on the strength of resource that 15-16 individuals, with knowledge of each others' businesses, are able to provide to the group. The strategic aspect of the CEO's role, relationship with the board and senior colleagues and group organisational structure, are top of mind in his group.
Prior to taking up his TEC Chairmanship, Charles was Head of Private Client Investment Services at Ord Minnett, a leading stockbroking and investment banking group subsequently acquired by US banking organization, J P Morgan.
Other senior career roles included Chairman and Managing Director of Jardine Fleming Australia, Vice Chairman of the Australian Stock Exchange, Chairman of the Securities and Exchanges Guarantee Corporation and Chairman and Directorships of publicly listed and private companies and not for profit organisations. He established a family philanthropic foundation in 2004, of which he is Chairman of Trustees.
Charles is the Chair of TEC 28, the aforementioned Sydney based start-up group which commenced in April 2004.
