Biography:
A TEC Chair since 1994 Christopher currently chairs TEC-401 a group comprising CEO's of businesses based in north-western New South Wales. He also coaches and mentors some smaller businesses and operates a beef cattle breeding property near Tamworth.
Career & Achievements: Christopher has Chief Executive and other senior executive experience in the food and beverage industries and in financial services.
He served as CEO of Occidental Life Assurance Company Australia, NZI life Insurance Company of Australia Limited, as well as Cigna Life Insurance Australia Limited.
His career commenced with Cottee's Limited in sales and marketing in the food and beverage industries. His responsibilities were mainly to do with the franchised marketing of beverages.
Christopher shifted to the life insurance industry, and in 1976 joined Occidental Life as state sales manager and was later appointed to National Sales Manager and Operations Director before being appointed CEO in 1984. In 1987 he joined NZI Life as CEO and was later appointed to NZI's International Board of Management.
In 1990 Christopher undertook an interim management assignment with Cigna Corporations international financial services division restructuring and managing the group's two Australian businesses - Cigna Life Australia Limited and Crusader Insurance Australia Limited. This assignment was completed in 1993.
In 2005, Christopher was awarded the prestigious Hyndman Award at TEC's International Conference in Washington DC.
