Over 34 years in marketing, strategic planning, general management and latterly in not-for-profit, David has been exposed to virtually every business category and encountered most of the transactional, client service and personnel challenges an executive can face.
He began his working life in brand management at Procter & Gamble in Canada before moving into the advertising agency business. Starting at FCB in Toronto and Chicago, and then joining J. Walter Thompson in Tokyo, he went on to manage JWT's offices in Hong Kong, Johannesburg and Melbourne before being appointed CEO - Greater China. He returned to North America as Managing Director, JWT New York before taking a senior role at Doremus, the largest global business to business agency.
David returned to Melbourne in 2004 to assume the CEO role with the Bluearth Foundation, a not for profit charity focussed on addressing childhood obesity caused by inactivity and sedentary lifestyle issues.
The lion's share of his career was spent in matrix organizations where the focus on the strategic and creative development process places a high premium on facilitating team work and collaborative problem solving. Accordingly, David has a wealth of knowledge in the area.
Born in Montreal, David did his university studies at Bishop's University in Quebec and at the London School of Economics. He is a non-executive director of Cogstate, a publicly traded biotech company.
