Gordon helps business leaders achieve their aims by helping to identify and address areas for improvement in the operational scope of their businesses, as well as their own personal leadership needs and drivers.
For over 20 years, Gordon served in the Royal Australian Navy (RAN), specialising in leadership, logistics, capital acquisition, project management and through-life design and support. These experiences have included significant military operational activities as well as deep exposure to the commercial arena of defence industry.
Gordon has represented the RAN in managing its business and operations in Australia, the UK and in Asia. Highlighting his professional career has been the development and implementation of business improvement programs based around personal leadership development. During his time as a manager with the ANZAC Ship Project, Gordon and his specialist team evaluated hundreds of small, medium to large contractors offering services to the project. This gave Gordon a genuine respect - and often sympathy - for the needs and the plight of SMEs.
Since leaving the Navy, Gordon has continued to develop his business model that encourages personal leadership at all levels of the business, pursuing strategic direction that is closely aligned with detailed action plans. He has operated as a business adviser in Malaysia and Australia, briefly as an executive recruitment consultant in Australia and for 6 years was the State Manager for Patrick Logistics in South Australia.
Gordon became Chair of TECR 207 in 2008.
