Jon has had chief executive and other general management roles in international manufacturing, distribution, and business-to-business service industries and has established a track record as an innovator and a leader of industry change.
During 2008 he established a consultancy to help businesses address the far reaching changes presented by the economic crisis and has recently moved to Queensland.
Jon has, over the past decade, been UK head for two of the world's largest credit insurers. Most recently he was Managing Director of Coface insuring over $20Bn of trade, where he grew the invoice financing arm to $200m in three years. Prior to this, Jon led the Atradius UK organisation through a significant industry consolidation affecting some 600 employees and revenues of $ 240m, and 4000 customers from all industry sectors. He was also a member of the Managing Board of Atradius Credit Insurance NV, the Dutch based Credit Insurer. During 2004 - 2007 Jon was the chairman of the Association of British Insurers Trade Credit Committee.
Jon previously was head of business development for Courtaulds Fibres, where he designed a business model for the TENCEL manmade fibre, entailing complex international supply chain and strategic brand management. His earlier career in Courtaulds included extensive operational experience as Managing Director of both small and medium sized industrial materials businesses. In these roles he led business acquisitions and disposals, operational changes and system introductions. During the early 1990s he addressed the challenges of radical changes to market demand caused by economic downturn.
In his early career Jon worked as a project manager on civil engineering projects in Saudi Arabia and the Caribbean for Taylor Woodrow International.
He is a Harvard MBA graduate and an Engineering graduate from Clare College, Cambridge.
Previously a member of TEC/Vistage in the UK, Jon took over the chairing of TEC 44 in 2009.
