Biography:
Keith is an acknowledged Visionary Leader with an inquisitive and practical strategic mind and has a strong values hierarchy where integrity and trust play an important part. Keith has Directorship, Chief Executive and Senior Executive experience in the distribution, retail, building and manufacturing business sectors, providing broad management wisdom.
Keith has held senior roles in sales, marketing, export, and manufacturing. In 1987 moving from Group General Manager of Manukau Timber Co Ltd, Keith joined Fletcher Merchants Ltd, part of the Fletcher Challenge Group, and was appointed as GM South Island for the PlaceMakers chain of outlets. This role included the merger of Odlins, Winstones and PlaceMakers South Island businesses.
In 1990 Keith was appointed Managing Director of Fletcher Merchants Ltd (PlaceMakers national chain), a position held for the next 11 years. During this time the business was converted to a franchise and the Joint Venture Partnership was established with owner operators at branch level. Significant acquisitions were made including The Building Depot chain, the Hire a Hubby franchise, and selected Mitre 10 outlets. In 1997 the business was renamed Fletcher Distribution Ltd and had a combined Turnover of $664m and 2,300 employees.
In 2002 Keith formed his own consulting business, Insight Business Solutions Ltd. This business has primarily undertaken management and advisory services to Fletcher Building Ltd companies. This has included Business Manager roles for Fletcher Wood Panels Building Technologies, The Laminex Group Building and Construction manufacturing and distribution channel, and the establishment of the PLYCOSELECT panels, door and moulding manufacturing and distribution business.
Keith has been involved with TEC since 2008 and is currently a member of the NZ Institute of Directors. Current Directorships include Manukau Building Consultants Ltd, and the NZ Plumbing Merchants Group Ltd.
