Biography:
Career & Achievements: Peter has had significant CEO, General Management and line management experience in technical and production fields. He worked in Canada for 2 years with ICI and later gained significant operating and sales experience throughout Asia as Australian CEO of the then diversified US Company AMF Inc with responsibilities for several divisions throughout Asia in the 1980s.
His first 18 years were spent in the Food and Agricultural Industries with Australian Fertilizers Ltd, Allied Feeds, Inghams Enterprises and Arrowfield Wines before reverting to his engineering background with AMF. He has subsequently spent 5 years in the development capital end of investment banking and acting as a non-executive director in a cross section of industries including industry marketing boards.
Education & Associations: Peter graduated from Sydney University in 1962 with a 1st Class Honours Degree in Chemical Engineering and the 1987 TEP program at the Darden MBA School at the University of Virginia. He is also a Member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.
Personal: Peter raises Angus cattle in the Kangaroo Valley as a weekend farmer.
Peter's TEC Group: TEC 2 is a multi-award winning group with a balance of business-owner CEOs and corporate CEOs from a wide variety of industries. The members, all graduates or professionally qualified, also have an interesting range of business and personal experiences which they share readily with the other members. Peter, an award winner himself (including TEC Chair of the Year in 2008), ascribes the success of the group to the strength and motivation of the members of TEC 2 and the on-going support from group alumni members.
