Career & Achievements: A well-known Adelaide-based marketer, Ron established his own strategic marketing consultancy in 2001, specialising in branding and corporate image development, marketing communications and strategic marketing planning and implementation issues.
Since then, Marketing Counsel has assisted a wide range of organisations in understanding customers through conducting appropriate research and subsequently responding to these markets through brand development, including internal cultural change. These include city and local councils, financial institutions, charities and industry associations.
Ron has extensive knowledge of the concepts of marketing and how best to develop a marketing perspective in others. He is currently lecturing in marketing and consulting/management research in the MBA program of the International Graduate School of Management at the University of South Australia, and marketing, service quality and consumer behaviour for the MBA and undergraduate program of the Le Cordon Bleu School.
Ron was most recently the Executive Manager, Marketing and Communications with the Adelaide City Council where he led a group of government agencies in developing "Adelaide Is… A Guide to Marketing Adelaide". Ron was previously Chief Executive of the Australian Institute of Management (South Australia) where he helped establish an articulated pathway structure for the Institute's management education products. Prior to this he was Marketing Manager with ETSA Power.
Apart from his history of government affiliations, Ron has an active involvement in both the business and not-for-profit sector. He has been a Trustee of Viva SA (formerly SA Business Vision 2010) since 1998, and a South Australia Business Ambassador since 1999.
