TEC History

The Executive Connection (TEC) helps CEOs become better leaders, make better decisions and drive better results for their organisations.

This top executive network started from very humble beginnings over five decades ago. One October morning in 1957, a Wisconsin businessman named Robert Nourse met with four fellow chief executives in the office of the Milwaukee Valve Company to test a simple, yet revolutionary idea - to share knowledge and experiences to help each other generate better results for their businesses.

Soon this group of businessmen was asking questions and making suggestions. They challenged each other, working together to solve issues and to grow as business leaders. With their collective success, TEC was born.

The Executive Connection proved to be a very effective concept for business improvement and leadership development in the USA and was brought to Australia in 1986 and subsequently to New Zealand in 2005. Today, TEC has more than 1200 members across both countries.

The Vistage and TEC family of companies includes affiliates operating under the names TEC, The Executive Committee, The Executive Connection and Vistage International. Operating in 16 countries with more than 14,500 members, the group represents the world's leading chief executive organisation based on revenue. Members continue to meet in small groups every month under the same guiding principles; to help one another make better decisions, achieve better results, and enhance their lives. They're also connecting in ways Nourse could never have imagined, collaborating online, tapping into a vast content library and learning from hundreds of top industry speakers.
