Richard has executive and non-exectuve board director experience. He built this on chief executive experience in a number of industry sectors, in Australia, US and SE Asia.
In recent years he has built a reputation for coaching CEOs and boards, in both strategic and operational areas.
He has been a non-executve director of companies in the bio-genetic, IT and solar areas. His work experience encompasses many different industry sectors, and SE Asian geography.
He headed Unisearch Limited, the commercial operation of the University of New South Wales for a period of 8 years. This responsibility encompassed 135 staff and annual sales of $35 million. Key operating divisions included problem-solving and applied research for business clients, the exploitation of inventions and the development of new start-up companies based on emerging technologies and specialised training programs.
Previously Richard spent several years as Regional General Manager of Verbatim, the manufacturer of digital storage media, with responsibilities for operations in Australia and SE Asia.
Richard's earlier career includes senior line roles with ANZ, Colgate Palmolive, General Foods and Imperial Chemical Industries, based in the UK, Sydney and Bangkok.
Coaching of CEOs in strategic and operational management, leading to improved business results and better life balance too.
He is a graduate of King's College, London University and an Associate of the College. He holds a Master's Degree from Harvard University.
Fellow of the Australian Insitute of Company Directors.
Richard is married and has three grown-up children.
His special interests include competitive sailing and choral singing and directing.
