Stephen has over 30 years management and industrial relations experience across a variety of industries with senior management and board positions in both private and public companies in Australia, New Zealand, Singapore, Indonesia, Papua New Guinea and Vanuatu.

Stephen commenced his career in industrial relations with BHP Proprietary Limited at Newcastle steelworks in 1967. He then joined Seatainer Terminals Limited in 1971 progressing through industrial relations, commercial, operational and terminal management positions.

He joined TNT Australia in 1982 and was appointed Executive General Manager, TNT Australia from 1986 to 1994 covering multiple divisions in general freight road, rail and sea transport operations, freight forwarding, warehousing, distribution and logistics. Stephen represented TNT Australia in the road transport industry and was the inaugural President of the Australian Road Transport Industrial Organisation.

Stephen moved to Brisbane in January 1995 as Managing Director Nautilus Australia Limited, ship providers throughout Australia, Singapore, Indonesia and Vanuatu.

He started his own consulting company in November 1996, Myers Consulting Pty Ltd, which provides management consulting services in business strategy, operations and logistics, strategic negotiations, and provides coaching and mentoring for CEO's and Senior Management.

In January 1998 he joined P&O Ports as General Manager Bulk & General Stevedoring ANZ Region covering stevedoring, transport and logistics operations. He led the Waterfront Reform negotiations for P&O Ports Bulk & General Stevedoring.
Stephen was with P&O Ports until 2001.

He was a Director of NZL Group Limited, Prixcar Services Pty Ltd, Northern Shipping & Stevedoring Pty Ltd, Port Services Pty Ltd (Port Moresby) and Chairperson of Riback Stevedoring Pty Ltd  (Lae) Papua New Guinea.

Stephen holds tertiary qualifications with a Bachelor of Commerce (Industrial Relations) honours degree and a Master of Business Administration degree from the University of New South Wales. He completed the Advanced Transportation Management Course at North-western University, Chicago, Illinois and the IBM Advanced Distribution Management Course, Palisades, New York.

He is a Member of the Chartered Institute of Transport, Associate Fellow of the Australian Institute of Management, a member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors and Institute of Management Consultants.

Married to Jenny and has two teenage boys, John and David.
