Smart Chief Executives Recognised in SME
Awards
Three TEC member companies have been recognised as some of
Australia's fastest-growing small to medium enterprises.
The annual Smart 50 awards, presented this month in Melbourne by
Victorian Small Business Minister Joe Helper, are run by online
news, information and resource site SmartCompany and recognises
those organisations that have experienced rapid growth.
Topping the list of TEC member-companies to receive a placing is
Apricus, coming in at number 5 on the list and featuring on the
list for a second year running. Managing director and TEC member,
Chris Taylor has led his company to 125% growth in the last year,
and has taken the solar hot water system company from $4 million
revenue in 2007-08 to $20.4 million in 2009-2010.
Following their recent win at the iAwards, Victorian member
company IP Payments placed 38th on the fast-growers list. Mark
Lewis and Jamie Collins, both TEC members, celebrated an average
annual growth of the payment software provider of 39% over the past
three years. With a focus on building the right solutions for your
clients to the point where it turns them into your sales force has
been a driving force behind IP Payments' rapid growth.
Brisbane-based hydraulics and plumbing design company,
Aqualogical closed off the list at number 50. Fresh from a win in
this year's Telstra Business Awards, TEC member and Director
Anthony Freeman has, along with fellow founder Doug Neufeld,
celebrated an average growth of 34% over the past three years. The
two founders believe that a focus on building brand awareness and
maintaining customer loyalty has helped their success.
