Executive peer support network The Executive Connection (TEC) is
celebrating the success of its program with five of the ten
categories in the 2010 Brisbane Lord Mayor's Business Awards being
won by local companies led by TEC members.
Urban Art Projects (UAP), Centor Architectural and Merlo Coffee
received recognition for being judged the leading and most
innovative businesses and entrepreneurs in Brisbane.
UAP, winner of the Business Creativity category and The Optus
Platinum Overall Award, is a specialist design consultancy which
creates site-specific art completing projects across domestic and
international markets.
CEO Ben Tait said seeing TEC members acknowledged at the awards
highlighted the talented groups and individuals connected through
the network.
"Having three of our members and their businesses recognised for
their success is testament to the support and encouragement to
succeed that TEC provides," he said.
Centor, manufacturers of bi-fold door hardware, won awards for
both Business Growth and Business Innovation; with Merlo Coffee
recognised for their display of balance between business and social
responsibility, collecting the Corporate Citizenship award. Both
companies are led by TEC members.
Centor Managing Director and veteran TEC member Nigel Spork said
TEC membership definitely contributes to corporate success.
"One of the greatest long-term benefits of being a TEC member is
the opportunity to present your strategic plan to a group of highly
successful, motivated fellow CEOs," Mr Spork said. "Their
collective wisdom over the nine years I have been a member has been
an invaluable resource for me and Centor."
TEC is the world's foremost chief executive leadership group for
ongoing professional and personal development with 250 members in
Queensland.
